Back where it all started

Supporting the Future Female Festival team in my hometown of Hannover, and what a day of sisterhood, Gen Z energy and coming full circle taught me.

Back where it all started. I spent a powerful day supporting the Future Female Festival team in my hometown of Hannover. After more than eight years living abroad, returning home felt like coming full circle.

Some rooms change your plans. This one changed my perspective. Here is what I am taking back to Amsterdam.

“ When we support women led initiatives, magic happens. ”

An all women team, lifting each other up

The entire team is all women and absolutely amazing. Kind and so sweet, every single one of them. They are deeply committed to lifting each other up.

Working alongside such a powerhouse was a reminder of why I keep showing up for women led initiatives. The energy in a room where everyone wants everyone else to win is unlike anything else. You do not have to defend your space, you can simply use it.

When we support women led initiatives, magic happens.

Young voices leading the way

The session with Anastasia Barner was my absolute favourite. I love Gen Z and I love to work with them. Her energy and perspective reminded me why intergenerational connection matters so much.

Young voices are not waiting to be invited into the future, they are already leading the way. If you only build rooms with people who look back at you, you will keep solving yesterday's problems. Mix the generations and the conversation changes on the spot.

Intergenerational connection is not a nice to have. It is the future, already in the room.

Real conversations about real barriers

The speakers and topics are exactly what we need right now: real conversations about the challenges women face and the barriers to overcome, with pathways forward that create lasting change.

No empty empowerment slogans, no panel theatre. Honest talks about what holds women back, followed by concrete ways forward. That combination is what turns an event day into an actual turning point.

“ Some gifts keep giving long after you leave the room. ”

Growth does not stop when the event ends

The books were a blessing. I am reading one on my train ride back to Amsterdam, because growth does not stop when the event ends.

Some gifts keep giving long after you leave the room. A good book from the right person at the right moment can carry the energy of a whole day into your everyday life.

Roots and new branches

The connections made are so helpful and powerful. Living abroad has taught me the value of roots and the power of new branches: deepening old ties while planting new seeds of collaboration.

Being part of this space felt like witnessing womanhood and sisterhood at its finest. We are not just talking about empowerment, we are living it together.

Living abroad taught me the value of roots and the power of new branches.

To the Future Female Festival team, thank you for welcoming me with open arms. Thank you for trusting me with this experience: Patricia Zupan Eugster, Verena Eugster, Carla Sophie Raffl and Sarah Walser.

This is what happens when women lift women forward together. Grateful beyond words.
